FMP PRACTICE IN YEAR TWO

Project that was successful - relates to FMP - Title sequence

Context - TITLE SEQUENCE

Ambitions and clarify purpose

- Themes (dark academia aesthetic, period drama piece)

- Location (Cambridge, 19th century buildings/architecture)

- Narrative (Fictional, inspired by period drama tv shows/films)

- Ambition is to create a professional looking title sequence

Research - TITLE SEQUENCE

Range of relevant sources to support ideas

- Understanding the foundations and convections used in title sequences and period drama pieces

- Analysing title sequences to draw inspiration from, particularly ones that capture the same aesthetic, style and tone

- Researching in depth audience types, breaking down in detail the age, gender, ethnicity, etc. of my target audience

- Learning the different audience types e.g target, primary, secondary audiences

Problem solving - TITLE SEQUENCE

- Changing certain locations due to legal restrictions (COVID-19)

- Changing/developing the narrative to make sure the visuals connect and reflect the storyline 

Decisive decision-making and initiative

- Ensuring shot types are feasible to create

- Experimenting and deciding on the different visual effects I want to create in order to develop technical/hard skills

Planning and production - TITLE SEQUENCE

Detailed and coherent planning, continuous evaluation against aims, efficient production

- Create schedule that details the tasks I need to complete in order to reach the deadline

- Explain in detail the relation between the audience, plot and visuals to the title sequence as a whole

- Create mood-boards to convey

- Redraft multiple scripts to explore new visuals/ideas

- Create visual designs to express and evidence ideas/concepts

Practical skills - TITLE SEQUENCE

In depth understanding skills and knowledge demonstrated

- Evidencing and documenting practise of visual effect skills

- Create a presentation that briefly covers each visual of the title sequence, with references to the story and visual design

- Document failures and attempts to create visuals/how I overcame them

- Upload multiple drafts with feedback

- Note lesson plans/updates

- Pre-Production work

Evaluation and reflection - TITLE SEQUENCE

Maturity in decision making, clarity, perceptive analysis

- Explain in depth the various stages part of production and the issues I faced, overcame etc. and described the overall development to the final cut

- Explain what the project has taught me and how this new knowledge and skill development can help benefit me in future projects

Confident selection of ideas to an intended audience

- Present title sequence with relation to target audience and how they have continuously been connected to scope the narrative
